Family Pictures

We just did our first family pictures with Isla and I think they turned out AMAZING! I had the hardest time narrowing down the ones I wanted to put up here (hence the billion pictures I did post:)

We won't be sending out Christmas cards this year just because with all this internet stuff these days anyone can just go online to see pictures of my family. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but it's there for random people's viewing pleasure! Enjoy:) I just love my handsome husband and adorable baby!

P.S. Isla stopped wearing her helmet over two months ago. She only had to wear it for about two months and her head is so much better now!

9 months

It is getting a lot harder to stay on top of this "every month picture" thing of Isla. It's one of those things that I hope I am grateful for later, but is turning into somewhat of a task each month to keep doing it! Oh how I do love that girl though and there are plenty of things each month that I would love to remember... I just don't know if this will get continued on with future kids or not:) Poor future kids, they are already getting the shaft:(

So this last month (or so) Isla:

  • Started standing without holding on to anything (once she is up) and staying that way for up to 30 seconds.
  • Favorite toy is still Weston
  • Loves her dad! I'm convinced she knows how to say the word "hi", but it is most likely just her baby talk.
  • So energetic. She can't sit still!
  • Climbs into things.
  • Sleeping all the way through the night with no interruptions  (I finally caved and did sleep training. It only took one night and then she had it)!
  • Still in the "put everything in your mouth stage". When does this end? Seriously. I would like an answer!
  • Eats "real" food. Cut up apple, banana  beans. Stuff like that. Usually just whatever we are eating that she can chew.
  • Loves outside, she smiles and gets really excited whenever I open the door! I think she just gets excited to get out of the house... We don't get out much:)
  • Loves swinging
  • Learning to play really well with other kids and also enjoys it!

What a blessing this kid is. I have said it before and I will say it again, I want like ten of her!

I came over to check on her and this is where I found her. In the ottoman that holds some of her toys.

She is starting to cuddle with me on purpose.... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS!!!!!

Her chair obstacle coarse she has to complete at least 20 times a day.

Trying to be like Weston. Gross toy in her mouth and all!

We dog sat our friends dog a few weeks ago and Isla LOVED him. Mainly because he was so lazy. He just sat there letting Isla do anything she wanted with him and he wouldn't move...

Halloween, Thanksgiving, birthdays and a visit from some Murray's

Well we had a great Thanksgiving!..... But, I didn't take any pictures.

Steve and I both had fantastic birthdays!... But, I didn't take any pictures of those either.

We also had a fun Halloween!... I DID get pictures of that:)

Every year since Steve and I got married Thanksgiving has been a little bit different. This year we did a friends Thanksgiving potluck dinner. I made the turkey and stuff that goes along with that and everyone else brought one of their favorite Thanksgiving dishes. It was so much fun and I am so thankful that I have good friends here (that also don't have family close by) to do stuff like this with:)

Steve turned 33 at the end of October and we celebrated again with friends by having a potluck dinner at our house.

I turned 28 on November 9th. We went out for sushi and saw the new twilight movie! Nerd alert.

During Halloween time we took Isla to the pumpkin patch (a must with kids right)! Of coarse it was fun and the for Halloween Steve's dad and two of his kids came to visit! Isla was a monkey for her first Halloween and I think she had a lot of fun strolling around the neighborhood with us collecting delicious forms of sugar!

Hey ride at the pumpkin patch.

This girl loves her some straw! Hard to keep the stuff out of her mouth.

We got Steve, Sara Palin, a monkey, a ninja, batgirl and Mike

Austin and Taylyn where so great with Isla!

We went to the Mesa Museum for Youth one day and got our pictures taken on the dollar bill

We also went to the park to feed the ducks one day.
It is always fun to have visitors (hint hint)!

8 months

At eight months old Isla is really just the cutest thing ever. She just gets more and more fun every day and is becoming very silly! I get why they say each stage is your favorite because I love this stage!

At eight months Isla...

  • Started crawling, pulling herself up on EVERYTHING and climbing up stairs all in the same 24 hour period.
  • Smiles, laughs and mimics a lot.
  • Loves grass.
  • Still trying to put everything in her mouth (I can't wait for that stage to end:)
  • Eats lots of various baby food and snacks. She loves peach melts and vanilla flavored puffs.
  • Favorite food is corn... She can't get enough of that corn.
  • Favorite toy is Weston
  • Can't sit still. Always has somewhere to be!
  • Tries to imitate things that the dog does like carrying things around in her mouth while she is crawling.
  • Loves to climb through the chairs under the table.
  • The sweetest thing ever! I just want to gobble her up and kiss her to death!
  • Still wakes up at least once a night:( (Totally my fault though, I have trained her to do this).

Loving velvet at the children's museum. Maybe we need a velvet wall at home?

Loved crawling through this tunnel over and over again at the library!

I love her in yellow!

This is one of those "imitating the dog" things that she does.
