Quiet book project

This was a super time consuming project but so worth it once it was done!! I gave it to Isla as one of her Christmas presents.

This was actually a group project. There was eight of us and what we did was each decide on two pages and then make them eight times!!! When we where all finished we did a swap and then just put them together! This was how mine turned out!

These were my two pages that I did. A seasons tree that teaches how to snap and Noah's ark with some cute little soft animals to play with that teaches how to zip.

Fall

Spring

Summer. Winter is just the bare tree and that snap on the left is for when I eventually make the word for each season to snap along with the leaves.

Noah's ark

This was my friend Laura's barn page with little animal finger puppets inside the bard doors.

Also Laura's learn to tie a shoe page!

This is a Mr. potato head kind of page. There is pieces in the pocket like eyes, mouth, eyebrows, hats, noses to make faces!

Dress up doll page by Kieren. Love the briefcase!!

Right now this is Isla's favorite page because she loves to play with the shape magnets and beads!

Weaving page and cupcake snap page by Krystal. Don't mind the burn mark on the weaving page, I accidentally ironed it and it burned a little:( Still soooo cute though!!!!

Road and city page by Ginny. Isla loves to drive the cars!

Braid the hair page and flower button page by Becca. I secretly love to play with the hair:)

Easter 2013

Holiday's are so much fun with a kid! I had so much fun shopping for an Easter dress and things for Isla's Easter basket. What a great day this was! It is a little sad at times not being able to celebrate special days like this with family, but, we are so lucky to have great friends here who had us over for a potluck dinner that night.

Alli & Haddy come to visit!!!

I had the best week when my sister Alli and her daughter Haddy came to visit last week! We did not go out and do a whole lot but we had a lot of fun just hanging out at home and watching Isla and Haddy play. On a few occasions during the visit we "attempted" to get some cute shots of them together. I posted the best ones we could get. They are just at a tough age were they don't get how to look and smile at the camera yet because they just have way to much to do!! We did get some cute action shots though:)

Best part was the cousin bath time!!!

They loved playing in the kiddie pool! It was hot outside but our back yard pool was still pretty chilly:)

Such a great week... I am really depressed it's over and back to real life now. It was a great way tho pass the time though, we have some exciting changes coming to our little family soon:)

Short weekend in Zion

Zion (as always) was a lot of fun. The best part was just hanging out and talking with Rachel and Alli. The kids really enjoyed the Easter egg decorating and it was the perfect getaway weekend.

Brynn had been looking forward to decorating Easter eggs all weekend and was SO ready and excited to get started!

Isla loved her egg. She tried to eat it on multiple occasions and then when she realized it was not edible because of the hard shell she threw it to the floor. She had fun while it lasted though!

Haddy LOVED dipping the eggs!

At the end of the weekend we were lucky enough to have Alli and Haddy ride back with us to Mesa! They spent the whole week with us! Post to come on that.

Isla's First Birthday

At one year Isla was:

  • Walking like a pro
  • Mastered climbing down stairs
  • Had eight teeth
  • Had said her first word which was "cracker" of all things
  • Also could say shoes, car and please
  • Could make animal sounds of a dog, elephant, monkey and snake

The day of her birthday party she was invited to go swimming in our friends outdoor heated pool. She LOVES to swim.

Simple birthday decor. Colors were Like a teal, purple and pink

Our little family and the birthday girl!

A little nervous about what to do with the cake at first, but then...

No problems devouring the ENTIRE smash cake!

She loved present time! She is so incredibly loved!

The best part of presents

The day after the party it rained and she got to test out her new rain coat.
What a fun age she is right now! I am such a lucky mom. She has the sweetest, silliest personality that I can't get enough of.

11 months

Around 11 months Isla was:

  • Had taken her first steps
  • Loved stairs and mastered climbing up them
  • Favorite toy is still ball popper and books
  • Loves her Daddy. She would stick to him like glue and any time she had a choice between him or me she would ALWAYS choose him:)
  • Such an amazing kid. Loves eating and playing and is just always happy!
