Well it's official... Time is going too fast! I love all the new fun things that Isla is learning, but I also love her just the way she is:) I have to say though, she is getting to be so much more fun! Not that the early newborn stage wasn't good because it was, it's just different. Now I get more sleep:)
I love so many things about her now so here is the list of things that I want to remember about her second month of life...
HER STATS:
Weight: 10 lb 9 oz (45th percentile)
Hight: 23 1/2 in (85th percentile)
Head Circumference: 14 1/2 (11th percentile)
- SHE IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! I discovered everybody's version of sleeping through the night is different so my version is she sleeps at least 7-9 hours each night and then I will wake up and feed her around 6 am and put her back to sleep for another 3-4 hours. I am a functioning human being again!
- She still smiles a lot but now she kind of laughs too. It's a cute laugh that could also just be some kind of sound but she only does it when she is smiling really big!
- She likes to make sounds... Not for a long period of time or anything but I am hearing lots of cute noises coming out of her mouth these days.
- She still loves her play gym but now she has kind of learned to try and hit the toys that are dangling above her head. She can't grab on to anything yet (at least on purpose) but she is starting to learn that she can touch what she see's.
- She loves books! Who new someone so small could appreciate a good book. She loves to look at the pictures and in one of her books about puppies, (it's a texture book), I will take her hand and rub it against the different textures and she laughs!
- Sadly she is starting to learn to cry a little bit more:( Sometimes when I go to feed her and I sit her on my lap getting the food ready she will shreek! Not a cute sound but I still love her.
- I think her favorite thing in the ENTIRE world is getting her diaper changed or her clothes changed... I don't understand it but am happy she enjoys it.
- She likes to be held sitting up now and looking out into the world.
- She decided that she HATES tummy time, but she enjoys getting her feet played with. That changed quick!
- She has a flat spot on the side of her head:( We are trying to hold her different ways and put her to sleep in the opposite direction in the crib to correct it. I have heard from many people including her doctor that it is a totally correctable thing as long as we just keep up the conscious effort to hold her differently. (That is a little harder for me because for some reason I can only hold her on one side).
- She is a copycat! If I open my mouth, she opens hers. If I stick out my tongue, she will stick out hers. I smile, she smiles. She is adorable!
Here are a bunch of my favorite pictures from the last month. I love her so much!
